Summer Pen-Pal Ideas ft. Shop For His Glory

Hey guys! Happy Monday! I haven’t done a pen-pal post for quite a while, and I really do love packaging things up and sending them to my pen-pal friends. One of my favorite things to send / receive in letters are stickers. I recently started collecting stickers on a water bottle, and while I was on Etsy a few weeks ago shopping for stickers, I came across this great Etsy shop, and sweet Emma agreed to send me a few stickers to share with you guys. 🙂

Summer Pen-Pal Add-Ins

1 . Summer Playlist.

I love listening to music, and I wear out of songs very quickly, so listening to new music is always a treat. When I think of summer music I think of upbeat, cheery tunes.

2. ATC’s.

We all know that I love making (and trading) ATC’s, but it can be super hard to find people trade with. Trading with a pen-pal is a great way to trade, and it’s always a surprise to see what they’ve made for you.

3. Hand-Lettered Quotes.

Quotes are so fun, you can put them on ATC’s or design a wallpaper or graphic with them. I’ve noticed that it’s tricky to find new quotes, so trading quotes with a pen-pal is super helpful!

4. Printed Photos.

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love aesthetic photos. (maybe more than I love aesthetic quotes..XD) And receiving a few from a pen-pal is always so fun, and it’s neat to see what they put together. 😉

5. Pressed Flowers.

I love the idea of sending flower seeds in the spring, then sending pressed flowers in the summer. If you aren’t sure what to do with pressed flowers, Allison made a great post covering it here.

6. Small Gifts.

Tea bags, Polaroid prints, friendship bracelets and other just-for-fun gifts are so fun to receive (and send) to your pen-pal. I also love the idea of sending something related to the recent holiday (for example, July 4th, send some vintage flag stamps, etc)

7. Washi Tape.

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love washi tape? If you bullet journal, write letters, make ATC’s, consider yourself un-artistic, then you probably have some type of washi tape. I love how readily available it is now, and how many different options they have.

8. Book List.

This could go two ways, you could include your current tbr list or you could include some of your favorite books, or a combination of both. If you are an avid reader, you could even specify it for different genres.

9. Summer Paint Chip.

I love the idea of making a paint chip or picking one up from a local paint shop of some summer colors. You could even name them according the season / holiday.

10. Stickers.

One of my favorite ideas in this entire post is including vinyl stickers in your letters. There are some many uses for these stickers (waterbottle, notebook, instrument) and they are super easy to ship! I recently started a sticker waterbottle, (here is an example) and I love the idea of exchanging fun stickers with pen-pals.

I especially love sending stickers with some encouragement behind them, so one of my favorite places to shop is Shop For His Glory. They have a bunch of inspirational stickers, that are super cute! Some of my favorites are the Reckless Love sticker and the Dare To Declare Who You Are. What are your favorites?

I hope these tips gave you some inspiration for summer pen-pal ideas. Also, apologies for the fact that this post is being posted on Tuesday, instead of Monday. #ivebeenbusy
