5 Tips For Finding Cute Summer Dresses

Hey guys! I don’t know about you, but it’s such a struggle for me to find dresses for summer (or really for any season for that matter) that I actually enjoy wearing. Today I’m going to share 5 of my favorite tips for finding cute summer dresses!

1. Know What You’re Looking For

Before you start shopping make a list of the things you want:

  • What occasion is this for?
  • What colors/styles look best on you?
  • What are some personal things you want? (eg. I usually look for dresses with sleeves, a good length and a classy style)

2. Look Around And Try On.

Shopping online is great (and sometimes a lifesaver) but when shopping for jeans and most dresses I always like to dry the item on before I buy it. Why? Well the thing is, you aren’t the model wearing the dress online. Sure, you can get an idea of what the dress looks like, what skin tone/hair color the dress looks best on, and what fabric it is. But to really know how the dress is going to look on, you just have to try it.

3. Find Something You Can Pair With Something Else.

Let’s take this dress for example. The length is great but the top needs some work. What if we put a basic white, or light pink, or yellow t-shirt underneath? Wouldn’t that be so cute? Thanks to girldefined for this idea!

4. Take Into Consideration How Long You’ll Wear This Dress.

Whenever I’m looking at a dress or really any piece of clothing for that matter I think of how long I’ll realistically be able to wear this for. Is it something that will go out in a season? Or will I keep it for years? I like to invest in good quality, classy dresses that I can wear for a long time. Then I’ll spend less money on dresses that I know I’ll wear only for a season or two.

Thanks to my sister for helping me w/ these! πŸ™‚

  1. Love this post! I always like getting a few new dresses around this time of the year. :)) I normally shop online but like you said sometimes it’s better to go to stores and actually try stuff on. I love the dresses you shared! I might have to get one. πŸ˜‰

  2. Those dresses are so pretty! I might get one. πŸ˜€ I normally don’t buy dresses often, but whenever I do, I like to shop online on QVC. If I go to a store, I’ll go to Burlington or Ross (I like being able to try on a dress to see if I like it on myself). 😊

  3. One of my favorite things about summer is there is no hassle trying to figure out what to wear! Just pick a cute dress and your all set to go! Also it’s much more budget friendly I think! The dresses you picked are really cute!
