Recreating Pura Vida Bracelets // Easy Friendship Bracelet Tutorial

Hey guys, it’s me Hannah! πŸ’™ I absolutely love friendship bracelets, especially in the summer. Pura Vida is one of my favorite online shops because they have such gorgeous bracelets and a really neat charity program, one problem though: the bracelets are super expensive. The good news: The bracelets are super easy to DIY and they’re super fun to do with friends, give to friends, or just do when you’re bored.

This is not a sponsored post/collaboration/affiliate with Pura Vida & no hate or anything on Pura Vida, just thought this would be a fun post to do.

The one thing I totally forgot about when I was buying the supplies for this post was beads/charms, which I really wish I could’ve remembered. I did a have a few around my house though, but if you guys do make these feel free to add charms and such. 😜

So for the thread I just grabbed this bundle from Hobby Lobby for $6, and like I said, these would be really cute if you added some charms but, I forgot. #reallife

Also, Pura Vida uses a waterproof cord, but my Hobby Lobby only had that in super limited colors, so I just grabbed basic cotton friendship bracelet making thread. πŸ‘Œ

Pura Vida basically has their signature bracelet style that you can do a bunch of different things with. I tried a few different ways of braiding then also doing their classic.

Basically what I did was choose one color from whatever style you are doing to do the braided ends. Then I cut the color I was braiding the ends with twice as long as I cut the middle threads. It sounds more confusing than it actually is, I promise. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Here are a few of the different styles/color combo’s I did. I didn’t have a lot of the exact colors they had, but I did try to recreate a few of the ones that they had.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and if you’d like to see me try to recreate some other products from popular brands I’d love to try. πŸ™‚

Also, I’m changing a few things around the blog to try to add a little more personality to it, and I’m also changing my posting schedule to Tuesday and either Friday’s or Saturday’s. Weekends have been super busy for me lately and I just don’t have the time to schedule a post for Monday during that time.

  1. I have always assumed that making friendship bracelets was really hard, maybe I should give it a try! πŸ˜€ Your bracelets are so pretty! ❀ Also, random question, How do you take your pictures? They always look so professional and clear! πŸ™‚

    1. Aww, thank you Laura! You definitely should! *nods* Well I do edit them a little, but we have this greenhouse type area in our yard and it has a clear roof, so on cloudy days I just go in there with a bunch of posterboard and take pictutes!
