Recent Creations + A Quick Tutorial

Hello everyone!! I haven’t done a recent art post for almost 6 months (WHAT??) so today I decided to do one! 🙂  Recently I have been making SO MANY projects and I’m excited to share them with you! I also made a cute little organizer that I have a tutorial for, which I’m also excited to share!

-Recent Art-

Envelope Art

So first this envelope that I decorated for my cousin. The theme was sort of vintage and I had some vintage looking stamps, so I decided to stick them on, rather than a basic stamp.

Here is the front of that envelope:

This next thing I’m pretty proud of! I based it off of this technique and was originally going to cover the entire page with the little squiggle things, but I got tired of doing that so I decided to aim for a coral reef theme. I love how it turned out!

Next we have some adorable little clay doughnuts! Which ones look most tasty? Also, I used brown and sparkly pink clay for the far left ones, sparkly pink for the left ones, translucent for the right and brown for the far right. Cute huh!

The rest are mostly ATC’s!

Isn’t this pretty! I did the texturing with salt and green watercolor, colored the back blue and wrote a pretty quote on it! I absolutely love it!

Have you ever heard this song  by TobyMac and Hollyn? I love it!

Ugh, my lettering didn’t turn out right for this one.

This might be my favorite!! I love how the sky looks! If I get brave enough I’m hoping to outline the bottom with the tree line in our yard. I think it would be so pretty! I’ll post a picture if I do end of doing that! 😉

This ATC is rather simple, but I still like it! 🙂

These next 3 ATC’s I’m doing a tutorial on next week for Art Lab.

Megan signs all of her emails with this verse and I thought it might look nice on an ATC! 🙂

Look out next Saturday for a tutorial!!

And this last one is one of my personal favorite scripture verses! I’m glad I’ve improved in my hand lettering since then! XD

I’m working on more art currently, so hopefully eventually there will be more! 🙂

-DIY TP Roll Organizer/Decoration-

So, this doesn’t take much time to make, but turns out really cute! Let’s get started!

First cut 5 Toilet Paper rolls in half.

Next decide on a color to paint the outsides of the tubes. I chose light pink because I thought it would look nice next to the brown.

IMG_5562
I just used basic acrylic paint for this project 🙂

Paint the outsides of your tubes.

IMG_5563

Let them dry.

Once they are dry heat up your hot glue gun!

Glue 4 of the tubes together.

IMG_5565

Then glue 3 tubes together and 2 tubes together. Now you should have 1 tube left over.

IMG_5567

Stack the tubes so you have a pyramid and glue together.

Pretty simple right? I hope you enjoyed! 🙂

Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy the warm weather! And thanks for reading!

  2. Whoa, I LOVE the coral reef envelope and house/building ATC, Hannah! They’re both amazing! Also ooh yeah, I made a toilet paper roll pyramid super similar to that to store my clay stuff in once. 🙂 I like the pink next to the brown too.
