Homebody by Joanna Gaines | Review

We’ve Transferred Sites: https://thestripedplaid.wordpress.com

Hey guys! A lot of you were asking me what Homebody was like when I mentioned that I received it for Christmas back in this post. So I’m super excited because I’m gonna review it today, and I’m like soooo excited to show you.. πŸ˜› Let’s get into it!

At the beginning she just gives a little introduction about her design journey, the book and what the book was about.

This next part (might be my favorite) where she gives common different styles. She also has words to describe those styles which I’d never thought of before. The pictures are so aesthetic! *swoons*

Mine are boho, traditional, and farmhouse.

Then she gives houses she’s flipped/fixed/designed, shows you the exterior, and explains the styles that best fit that house.

The Unexpected Estate is my favorite. I imagine I’d add a little boho to the mix though. πŸ˜›

Now onto the main parts of the book, there is basically a part for every room/area in the house. eg. bathroom, bedroom, living room.

I think this is my favorite living room. πŸ™‚

The consumables in the back: So this is another favorite part, I love how she gives you these little blueprints and room blocks for designing your house. And if you’re like me and don’t have your own house (or apartment for that matter) or even a bedroom that isn’t completely yours. πŸ˜› πŸ˜› πŸ˜› You can use these blueprints for designing your dream house. (I mean, no one has scrolled through Pinterest mindlessly looking at dream house pictures before, right??) Ahem, they also have them free on their website here.

They’re super awesome, because you can just print them out as many times as you want, without having to worry about filling up your book. (although if you design a room you really decide you like, I’d put it in the book, but that’s just me) And you can design a whole house (or five). And if you really want to be fun, you can download that pdf and convert it into a word doc, find images on Pinterest, copy + paste them into the word doc and type in it. (it isn’t optimized as a word document, so you’ll have to make new text boxes)

Sorry about that rant. (sonotsorry) I just thought it’d be fun to show you guys what I’ve been up to lately. 😜 (oh and if you want an even more enjoyable experience, drink some green tea while looking at Pinterest and designing dream houses.)

So, did you guys like the review? Did you like my dream house design rant? Would you like to see a dream house post? (I think I’d like to make one)
