Top 10 Wall Colors For Teenage Girl Bedrooms 2020

Hey guys! I don’t know about you, but with spring arriving and warm weather here, I’m getting excited to start working on some summer projects! I know I love to stay updated on the trending paint and accent colors (any fellow HGTV magazine readers here?!!), even if I’m not painting a room. XD Anyway, here are the top 10 wall colors for teenage girl bedrooms in 2020! (although these colors could easily be used for an apartment or other rooms in the house 😉 )

As you’ll notice, these shades are pretty much all neutrals, I’d 1000% recommend choosing a neutral wall color for your room because 1) It’s easy to change the style of the room without changing the wall color, because most neutrals work for most styles and 2) Most likely you want your bedroom to feel bigger and cleaner, a neutral shade will bring in more natural light making the room feel much bigger!

However, there are some more bold shades in this list, so if you’re feeling creative and are sure you want this color, go ahead and paint your room a more bold color! I’ve seen some gorgeous rooms painted in bold shades. 🙂

1 . Dusty blue. I don’t know about you but I’m loving the dusty blue trend! It’s so peaceful and I just feel like it would be so pretty in a room. I’d accent it with white trim & gold accents.

2. Pale beige. I’m sure you’ve seen the dorm rooms and bedrooms all over Pinterest with this color! It gives a cozy warm feel to the room, especially if you add pops of green with plants, bright white sheets & bedding and some color with flowers on the wall.

3. Slate gray. I know it might seem a little daring to paint a room entirely black (or nearly black), but I love seeing rooms that are black, but filled with white accents. I think they did a lovely job accenting the black with plenty of white to keep it looking fresh and bright!

4. Light lavender. This makes for a gorgeous girly look, but to keep it from looking “little girly” make sure to not to add too much light pink or other pastel colors, instead accent with whites and natural elements, such as a hardwood floor, distressed gold mirror, etc.

5. Bright white. A classic for sure. Bright white can be applied to so many styles, so if you enjoy changing the style of your room, this may be a great choice for you!

6. Light blush. Another very feminine and girly look! I love the idea of contrasting this with a black metal bed frame and natural wood. Avoid adding other pastels or even a lot of white to keep this from looking immature. Instead, bring in some more natural elements, such as plants and natural wood. (not painted)

7. White ship-lap. If you have a farmhouse and similar style in other rooms of the house, this might be a great choice. I know that this style is SUPER popular in kitchens, living rooms and bathrooms, so why not bring it into the bedroom too? I think you could totally pull it off as a teen bedroom if you added some natural whites, mustard yellows and blush pinks!

8. Muted clay. This one is similar “pale beige” but it’s darker and a little more pronounced. (the pale beige is more neutral & subtle) This color is a great canvas if you love dusty blue & coral, but want to make it a little more mature than the the stereotypical blue & pink.

9. Light gray. I’ll be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of cool colors. I prefer warmer colors for decorating since they have a more inviting & cozy feel. Cool colors though more often feel clean and organized, and CAN feel inviting and cozy if styled properly. Bring in some gold & blush pink to really pull the room together.

10. Accent wallpaper. Okay, so I know that this isn’t a wall color, but honestly, wall paper gets a bad rep. It can be so cute and so on trend! (forget the vintage floral patterns!!) Doing an accent wall either with paint or with wallpaper can really create a neat focal point for a bedroom. Make sure not to create competing elements throughout the room, keep it simple.

I hope you guys enjoyed these aesthetic bedroom photos! And also, I hope you’re all doing well and staying safe during this quarantine! Please, if you are at all able, stay inside to protect the elderly, those with chronic illnesses and healthcare workers! 👍

  1. Great post! The white shiplap is gorgeous 😍 I wish I lived in a farmhouse now! My room is currently a very light lavender (so light it’s almost white) that I’m loving. These were some great ideas! Hope you and your family are well❤️

  2. My favourite is probably light lavender! In my room we have pink that I’ve had since I was five which gives it a subtle feminine but calm feel which really describes my personality! What’s your room colour?? You should do top ten teen room devour ideas!

  4. These are gorgeous! I painted my room bright teal when I was 9, which I wish I could change to a more neutral color to be able to change things up a lot more easily, but oh well, haha.
