Bringing Back The Random Posts ft. Giveaway Winner, Sunsets, My Spring Playlist & More

Hey guys! Remember a few years ago when I used to do Random Posts? You guys always seemed to enjoy them, so I decided I’d bring them back for a day. Rather than creating an entire spring playlist post or an entire sunsets photography post, like I usually would, I decided to combine a few ideas into one longer post. I hope you guys will enjoy! πŸ™‚

The Giveaway Winner! I decided to start with this one, so you could get over the anticipation and just enjoy the rest of the post. πŸ˜ƒ Congratulations to…

Congratulations Olivia! πŸ˜„β€ I already emailed you and sent out the prize, but I wanted to let everyone else know! πŸ˜‰

For all the rest of you who didn’t win, I hope to host more giveaway’s in the future, so stay tuned! Now, let’s get on with the rest of the post:

Sunsets. I don’t know about other places, but where I live, February and March always have the prettiest sunrises/sunsets. For some reason, I’ve actually been using my phone to photograph most of them, rather than my camera. I think that this happens for a few reasons, 1) because sunsets/sunrises are so time sensitive, and it takes a few minutes to set up my camera and 2) because rather than focusing on taking the best sunset photo ever, I’ve been focusing on just capturing that beautiful moment. Here are a few of my favorites from recently:

Spring Playlist 2020.

Could You Be This Good – Kristine DiMarco – Bethel

Red Sea Road – Ellie Holcomb

In Real Life – Amanda Vernon

Sunny Days – Jars of Clay

Wonderful Feeling – Switchfoot

Pieces – Steffany Gretzinger

He Will – Ellie Holcomb

Wordless – Lauren Daigle

Show You Love – Jars of Clay

This Could Change Everything – Francesca Batistelli

Ahh, these are all just so pretty! ❀ I love how simple and pretty many of these are, they all kind of reminded me of spring, of healing and of wonder. My all time favorite “springy” feel good song is “Sunny Days” by Jars of Clay. It’s such a classic, and it never gets old!

Inspiring Reads. I always love sharing other bloggers’ posts because honestly, blogging is much more than just my blog or your blog. There’s so many other great blogs out there, so here are a few of my favorite of their posts from the past month or so:

You guys should definitely check those posts out and also check out those bloggers’ other posts, as they are all wonderful! πŸ˜„

Q&A Answers. I did a mini q&a on SP Daily a few weeks ago and decided to still post the answers on here because several people requested that I still answer them! πŸ™‚

Favorite Snack? Soft pretzels or bagels.

What’s your favorite thing about being a blogger and an entrepreneur? I love meeting new people, and creating blog posts. I also just really enjoy creating meaningful value for others.

What is your favorite color? Blue.

Where would you absolutely love to go on vacation? Bora-bora, or a European tour.

If you were to name both a boy and a girl, what would you name them? Boy: Carter, Girl: Camilla

What is your favorite subject in school? English or Social Studies.

What is your dream job? A CEO of my own business, or in a leadership position in another business.

Least favorite food? Cheesy potatoes.

Do you consider yourself having an aesthetic, if so, what is it? I’d say my aesthetic is trendy, classic & casual.

What’s your favorite bible verse? Psalm 27:13 & Lamentations 3:22-24

What happened to the novel you were writing? Heh. Well, basically I decided that the story didn’t have a great plot, and just wasn’t a great plot in general, so I stopped writing it. I should go through and read it sometime though. πŸ˜›

Do you ride horses? I don’t take lessons, but I do know how to ride and will sometimes do trail rides with friends.

What’s your usual Starbucks order? Usually a mocha if it’s cold and an iced coffee if it’s hot.

What made you decide to name your blog The Striped Plaid? I really wanted something unique and something that could fit into pretty much any category I wanted it to. (lifestyle, fashion, etc) This blog was originally named Crafts of all Seasons, then last year I changed it to The Striped Plaid. I was considering using my name, but ending up deciding on this. Looking back, I’m glad I ended up choosing The Striped Plaid.

If there is one tip you have learned from blogging that you didn’t know when you started? Giving versus taking. When creating content of any kind, you really need to keep in mind that you’re taking someone else’s time. Therefore, you should be giving someone something that they didn’t have before they read (or listened/watched) your content. For example, in this post you are leaving with the knowledge of who won the giveaway, some songs for spring, the q&a answers and more. You’re spending about 5 minutes reading this to get all those things.

What is an important part of running a blog you think every blogger should know? Hmm, probably being consistent and posting regularly. Posting/creating content regularly and consistently is ULTRA important. I’m not saying that you need to have a set-in-stone blogging schedule, but I am saying to make sure that you’re regularly creating valuable content for your readers. πŸ˜‰

What is one hobby you would like to try, but haven’t? I would honestly love to try singing more. And guitar. But I haven’t really got around to either of those yet. Right now I’m working on keyboard and piano.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Huh. That’s a hard question. Well, I’m presuming that I’ll have finished high school & college. I could be married/have kids by then and hopefully I’ll still be blogging. But we’ll see. It’ll be a fun adventure, won’t it? πŸ˜€

I hope you guys enjoyed these little “mini” posts combined into one big one! If you’d like to see more posts like this then make sure to drop me a comment below!

    1. That’s really neat! πŸ™‚ Yeah, it doesn’t seem like a great idea this year with the virus. Hopefully next year they’ll have a vaccine or something to help handle it better!

  1. Those sunsets look so beautiful! 😍 And loved learning more about you through your Q&A answers ✨ I like sunset over sunrise (as I’m never up to see the latter of the two πŸ˜‚), my favourite song for spring would be going back to what I used to listen to when I was little like ABBA stuff from their ‘Ring Ring’ era as Spring feels nostalgic for some reason, my fav season is Autumn and Starbucks would probably be a hot chocolate as I can’t help but order them wherever I am πŸ˜‚ great post! πŸ’•

  3. Aaah, the sunsets!!!! So pretty! I enjoy photographing sunsets, too. I liked reading your answers from the Q&A and I’m going to have to check out those songs. πŸ™‚ Oh, Starbucks! I feel so trendy when I go there. πŸ˜€ Usually, I like to order the Mocha Cookie Crumble frappuccino with a cream base instead of coffee (you must know that I don’t like coffee! XD).

  4. Hi, Hannah! I can’t find the post that I commented on last time with the question about how to get videos in my blog posts, but I just wanted to let you know that I figured out how to do it, so you can just ignore that comment. Thanks!
