Hi everyone! Today I’m collabing with Gaby @quaintanddarling to bring you 10 Bullet Journaling Tips! Gaby will be posting the first 5 tips and I will be posting the last 5 tips! 😉
Make sure to check out the first five tips on Gaby’s blog here.
Here are my tips:
6. Font Ideas.
Font’s are really fun to work with! They allow you to customize (which I will be talking more about later) your Bullet Journal, which is super fun! Hand lettering does take some practice though, but once your get a pretty completely hand-lettered piece, it is totally worth the effort! 😉
Another thing I find hard is font ideas, which is what we are supposed to be talking about right now, so anyway here are your font ideas:
I hope those are helpful! I know I used a lot of these fonts in my Bullet Journal!
7. Monthly Section.
One of my favorite parts of a Bullet Journal is a monthly section. It’s basically just a section for each month with pages in it. What’s really great is you can experiment with different pages each month.
Let’s say that I thought I would do great filling out a Savings Tracker in March, but I really only recorded one thing out of the 30 things I purchased in March. It didn’t really work did it? SO in April I won’t have that page, or I will make the page better.
It’s always fun to add and subtract pages each month! I love finding out what works for me! 😉
And to close off this tip, I’ll just give you a little tour of my monthly section!
First I like to start out with a cute ‘cover’ for the month. April’s is rather simple.
Next I write out my calendar. (which is super useful in your bullet journal btw.)
One thing I’ve figured out through Bullet Journaling is that I just can’t make myself write even a paragraph about my day, every day. I will do it for a few days then completely fall off the wagon. XD So instead of trying for a paragraph (or several) I try for a sentence or even a word. So far it seems to be working! 🙂
Despite my non-willingness to write a paragraph every single day, I still love looking back on the (few) times I did journal. So I try to write about the past week every Sunday. I still get the results that I love from journaling, without having to write every single day. And of course if I want to write a long something one day, I can write it here!
And lastly my Savings Tracker.
Ahem, so I have a little confession to make. When I’m at the store (particularly at Jo-Ann, TJ-Maxx and other stores that have either craft things or clothing) I get rather carried away and often end up spending to much money. I figure that if I have to write out how much I spent and why I spent it I will be more careful!
8. Page Ideas.
When I first started bullet journaling I had absolutely no idea what my pages should be about or what I would actually use. To fix that problem for you all, I have collaborated a list of pages in my current bullet journal that I use and love! 🙂
- Reading List.
- Blogging Ideas.
- Prayer List.
- Bible Verses.
- Party Ideas.
- Bucket List.
Those are all of my pages!
Here are some pages that have failed for me:
- Secrets. (if you have any siblings (or friends who get into stuff) just don’t write your secrets down, I learned the hard way) XD
- Story Writing. (I never used this page, I always do all m writing on the computer and don’t really carry my bullet journal around with me.)
- Daily To-Do Lists. (I get lazy and don’t write them out, then I just waste the pages)
Please note that these are just things that didn’t work for me, they may or may not work for you! 😉
I love making thing unique, and bullet journals are a great way to outlet that! Below is a list of ways to customize your Bullet Journal:
- Washi tape.
- Hand Lettering.
- Custom Pages.
Those are just a few ideas, but I hope you enjoyed! 🙂
10. Finding a System that works for you!
I like to think of bullet journaling as more of a system rather than a thing. And one particular system won’t work for everyone! If you are reading someone else’s blog (we’ll use mine as an example).
Ahem, so say you are reading this post and saying, “Wow, her system looks really great, I should try it!” then you go pick up a cute Bullet Journal and copy my exact system. I wouldn’t care if you did that, but it probably wouldn’t work for you.
I mean God created everyone different didn’t he?
So what to do now? I like to pull ideas from other people and combine them to make a system that works for me!
I hope those tips were/are inspiring and helpful! Thanks for reading!
