How to take Interesting Pics + Photography Ideas

Hey. Hi. Hello. Every new blogger has seen those amazing photos on professional bloggers websites right? What if your site could have great photos too? Today I thought it would be fun to show you guys some of my favorite tips and techniques for taking photos! From photo inspiration to tips, this post is a fun and easy guide to follow! (plus, there are photos all throughout this post, with some of my best photography tips and tricks written next to them!)

Instead of just taking a picture of something, get up close and show its detail!

So, when you are just starting blogging, or aren’t interested in photography, you can use Stock photos for around your blog and such. That’s great! But the only problem is that anyone else can buy/use the stock photos on free websites. Therefore, you can’t be totally unique.

If you are interested in photography and have a decent camera, then you have a solution! Take your own photos!

Taking photos of spices is really fun and makes for super interesting results!

How to take good Photos:

Almost any photo that is not super fuzzy and pixelated is pretty good, but how do you get the right angle? How do you make it a photo that someone will remember?

Making a neat, well lit background can really affect the finished photo!

A few general photography tips:

So, the first thing I want you to know is that I am FAR from a professional photographer, (although that is one of my hopes for the future) I thought that I could just give you some advice on what I have learned, and a few tips for better photography!

  • Get the best quality camera you can! A DSLR can really help your photography skills improve!
  • Don’t be afraid to take your camera with you on the go! It can be quite interesting to take random photos of random people! XD
  • Get up close! Use your zoom, but don’t be afraid to crouch down and get up close to a pretty flower!
  • Make sure the lighting is as good as possible. This is really important, I mean you can edit your photo and that can help – a lot! But try to do the best possible with lighting!
  • Take pictures incognito! This is fun, get some of your siblings doing random things, get one of someone laughing! It’s fun.
  • Never post fuzzy/ blurry/ pixelated pictures. Even if it means skipping that post, please just don’t do it. It distracts from your writing and generally makes you look very unprofessional.

Finding interesting things from around your house to photograph can be a very rewarding project!

Getting the right angle:

Getting the right angle is super important! (just like in math) It can be a little tricky to tilt the camera just so, so there is no stop sign in the background, but believe me, it is so worth it!!

  • Bend down! Your not gonna get many photo opportunity’s if you just stand straight and try to zoom.
  • Experiment. So you thought that angle would look great, it doesn’t. Try a different angle!

Taking photographs of people in natural positions, makes for a very realistic and attractive photo!

Photo ideas:

I’ve included some photos throughout this post, to hopefully give you some ideas, but sometimes (especially when the whether is dreary and cold) you are just plain out of inspiration. Here are some ideas:

  • Find a sibling and try taking pictures of them. Even if they don’t totally cooperate you will at least get a little practice, right?
  • Use your opportunity’s! Going to an antique store, walking the mall? Bring your camera! You never know what photo opportunity’s await you!
  • Take pictures of yourself. Try using a mirror or the self timer option on your camera! I have taken a few good pictures of myself with both of these techniques!
  • Ā Find interesting things around your house and take photos of those. Maybe you have a special tea cup or interesting piece of fabric, experiment with photo opportunity’s there!
  • Take photos of your creations! I think this is so fun! I mean who doesn’t want to share there creations with others! Experiment with different and fun angles, for unique looks!

Vibrant colored photos on a white background really pop and look nice!

So wrapping up the tips/techniques, I would just like to mention one last thing. The above tips are all great (in my opinion) but, use your unique creativity for your photos! I mean you never know what something will look like until you try!
